Chef’s Winter Highlights

No.4 Hamilton Place turns its attention to celebrating the very best part of this chilly time of year– the food.

This exclusive Mayfair private dining venue boasts its own in-house Blue Strawberry chef brigade who are experts at creating culinary delights using the best seasonal ingredients.  Clients often comment on how dishes combine delicious comfort food with the high level of stylish presentation expected of a fine dining restaurant.

We thought this would be a nice opportunity to take a closer look at the fantastic menus on offer for private parties of between five and 200 guests. Here are some of the winter highlights that diners can expect to enjoy at a No.4 Hamilton Place event.

Canapés

Often the first impression for party guests, Blue Strawberry’s exquisite canapés always make a fantastic impact. When we asked Head Chef, Paulo Ferreira, to select his signature choice, he opted for the cannon of lamb, smoky aubergine, strained yoghurt and fresh mint. ‘Comforting canapés such as this are perfect for warming guests up at this time of year’ he says, ‘The fresh, tangy topping ideally complements the rich and tender lamb, resulting in a delicious combination of flavours.’

Starter

The winter months are a great opportunity to serve dishes that showcase rich, deep flavours. The salt-baked celeriac accompanied with a roast truffle butter, cheese fondue and celery is a great example of this. ‘The subtle, earthy tones of the celeriac and truffle work brilliantly together,’ says Paulo. ‘Another wonderful element of this dish is the contrasting textures of the different components on the plate – particularly the celery. It’s a fabulous way to start a celebration meal.’

Main

The heart of any dining experience, the main dish must be full of flavour and satisfying elements.

Roast rump of lamb is served with a sweet potato purée, green olive chimichurri, red cabbage and chilli pickle. ‘The pickled ingredients cut through the delicate richness of the lamb and sweet potato,’ says Paulo. ‘And the red cabbage, with its Christmas spices, adds a festive feel to the plate.’

Dessert

The culmination of a wonderful dinner, desserts are the perfect opportunity to indulge your guests  ‘Our Rum-roasted pineapple, lime syrup sponge is served with an orange and chilli meringue,’ says Paulo, ‘so it has all the comfort needed in a British winter, but with a tropical, citrus kick that lifts it onto a whole other level.’
